The opening ceremony was attended by the country’s Awqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Yusuf Bilmahdi, En-Nahar Online reported.
The National Quran Week’s programs are held under the supervision of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The motto of this year’s event is “Love for Homeland, Ethical Dimension and National Commitment”.
The Algerian army’s national club in the capital Algiers hosts the week’s programs.
They include a national contest on Quran memorization, Tajweed and Tafseer (interpretation).
Winners of the competition will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony.
