IQNA – Saudi Arabia has declared that individuals with any type of visa are now eligible to perform Umrah, the minor pilgrimage.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated in a post, “Arrivals from anywhere and with any visa can perform Umrah with ease and comfort.” The ministry further emphasized that all visa holders, including personal, family, transit, labor, and e-visas, can participate in Umrah rituals. “Whatever the type of your visa, you can do Umrah,” it added.

Pilgrims are advised to use the Nusuk app to secure an Umrah permit and adhere to the scheduled timings for rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Islam’s holiest site, Saudi media outlets reported.

The Nusuk platform simplifies various procedures, including accommodation arrangements, for Muslims intending to perform Umrah and visit Medina, Islam’s second holiest site.

In recent months, Saudi Arabia has introduced several facilities for overseas Muslims to perform Umrah. These initiatives aim to accommodate millions of Muslims worldwide who undertake Umrah, particularly those unable to participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage due to physical or financial constraints.

Recent enhancements include extending the Umrah visa duration from 30 to 90 days, allowing entry via all land, air, and sea ports, and removing the requirement for women pilgrims to be accompanied by male guardians.

Moreover, expatriates in Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries and holders of Schengen, US, and UK visas can schedule Umrah appointments via the Nusuk app prior to their arrival in Saudi Arabia.
