According to Mr. Mahini director of Mahd-e Quran Institute’s public relations office, the competition is held in the categories of memorization, interpretation and recitation of the holy Quran.
220 men and women from around the country are to take part in the four-day event.
“The contest aims to develop and promote the elevating culture of the holy Quran and creating a competitive atmosphere to encourage memorizing and contemplating on the holy book,” he told IQNA.
There are six specialized committees in charge of running different parts of the event.
