Quranic Stations Greet Pilgrims of Imam Kadhim (AS) in Iraq

Millions of pilgrims are flocking to Iraq's Kadhimiya to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS), the seventh Shia Imam, on the 25th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rajab (Tuesday, February 5, 2024).

The Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) has organized several Quranic stations along the way to offer various programs by 15 Quranic experts.

The programs include teaching the correct recitation of Surahs such as Fatiha, instructing short Quran surahs, supplications, and answering questions of pilgrims about the Quran.

Imam Kadhim (AS) was poisoned and martyred on Rajab 25, 183 (September 5, 799 AD) in a prison in Baghdad. His holy shrine is located in Kadhimiya, north of the Iraqi capital.

Saad al-Hujjiya, deputy secretary general of the Astan, said that they expect some ten million pilgrims from Iraq, Iran, India, Pakistan, Lebanon and other countries to visit the holy city in the next few days.

The Iraqi health ministry has also dispatched ambulances to the roads leading to the holy shrine and provided necessary medicines and medical equipment to serve pilgrims needing treatment.

Moreover, the health ministry will supervise the distribution of votive foods and beverages at Moukebs to make sure they meet health standards, al-Hujjiya said.
