Sheikh Qassim Stresses Bahrainis’ Support for Palestine

MANAMA (IQNA) – Bahrain’s most prominent Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim called on the Persian Gulf island country’s people to support Palestine in the face of the Zionist regime’s crimes.

In a statement, Sheikh Qassim noted that Bahrainis have done a lot for the sake of the religion of God, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Gaza and Palestine, but that more should be done on the path of God.

If the people of Bahrain do more to support Palestine, the Zionist usurpers will face more calamities, he stated.   

“Do whatever you can in support of Islam and its people,” Sheikh Qassim said in the statement, also stressing efforts on the path of reforming Bahrain.

Earlier, over 270 Bahraini scholars censured the Tel Aviv regime’s atrocities in Palestine and called on the Manama government to sever ties with the Zionist regime.

The history of this regime is filled with heinous crimes and the recent bombing of a hospital in Gaza in which more than 500 innocent people were killed is just another war crime committed by Israel, the scholars said, reiterating the Palestinian people’s inalienable and legitimate right to defend their land.
