Humanity Thirsty for Quranic Teachings More than Before: Senior Cleric

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The human society today is thirsty for the divine teachings of the Holy Quran much more than before, a senior Iranian cleric said.

In a message to the Quran and Etrat Festival of Payam Noor University, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani stressed that the Noble Quran is undoubtedly a treasure of truths for this world and the next and a divine spring of life.

He said while reaching the depth of is teachings is difficult, everyone can benefit from it and its concepts and teachings to elevate oneself and the society.

Ayatollah Sobhani urged the youth to maintain and bolster their spiritual bonds with the Holy Book and put using its lofty and life-giving teachings high on their agenda.

He also hailed the organization of the Quran and Etrat festival of Payam Noor University and praised the students taking part in the Quranic event.

The 26^th edition of the festival was held in the northwestern city of Tabriz earlier this week.

Payam Noor University from various cities of the country took part in the festival, competing in 40 categories like Quran memorization, recitation, Nahj al-Balagha, Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, Quranic innovation, arts and literature.
