Ismail Haniyeh made the remark in a meeting with the secretary general of the Islamic Jihad movement, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Al-Mayadeen reported.
The two resistance figures discussed political and field developments in Palestine, recent incidents in Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Israeli attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division of the mosque.
They also exchanged views on certain countries’ normalization of ties with the Israeli regime and its impact on the issue of Palestine.
Haniyeh and Nakhalah further talked about realization of national unity to confront the occupiers and about the status of Palestinian people in the country and in refugee camps outside Palestine and ways to help and provide services to them.
In the past months, heavy clashes have been going on between the Israeli occupation forces and Palestinians on a weekly basis over Tel Aviv’s crimes against Palestinians, its deseceration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its settlement expansion across the Palestinian territories.
