Malaysia’s Capital Hosts ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ Int’l Conference

IQNA – An international conference named ‘Al-Aqsa Flood; Awakening of Human Conscience’ was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It was organized Friday by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) in cooperation with the Iranian Culture Center in Malaysia, the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) and the Council of Malaysia’s Muslim Scholars.

The day, which was the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, marked the International Quds Day.

According to the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Malaysia Habibollah Arzani, the conference included morning and evening sessions as well as an expert forum on the situation in the Gaza Strip.

He said WFPIST Chief Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Head of MAPIM Azmi Abdul Hamid, and representative of Hamas in Malaysia Moslim Imran, were among the speakers at the conference.

There were also representatives from Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan, Yemen and Iran as well as a number of international organizations, he stated.

The speakers condemned the Israeli regime’s crimes, underlined the need for an end to the war on Gaza and the blockade of the enclave, reiterated the unity of Muslim world with regard to the issue of Gaza and called for suspension of any political interaction with the Zionist regime, Arzani noted.

The final statement of the conference called for massive participation of people all over the world in the International Quds Day Rallies, Arzani went on to say.

The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.
