TEHRAN (IQNA) – An American political analyst described US President Joe Biden’s reaction to the latest developments in Palestine's occupied territories as “ridiculous”, noting that Washington is currently “too weak” to continue its support for the Israeli regime.

“The news out of Palestine was first brought to my attention through US media stories on President Biden’s ridiculous comment about an unprovoked attack,” Charles Dunaway, who is a radio host and runs an online political forum, told IQNA late on Saturday.

In a phone call after Palestine's military response to Israeli aggression, Biden told Benjamin Netanyahu, “We stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support” to the regime.

He further warned against any other party seeking advantage in this situation, saying, “My Administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”

Dunaway continued, “That [Biden’s remark] was followed by another senior congressional leader saying that the attack was the result of Biden returning $6 billion to Iran in the recent hostage negotiations.”

He said, “Once again the Zionist-dominated press in the West is useless as a source of information on the apartheid regime in Tel Aviv and finds any excuse to attack Iran as well.”

Dunaway said "Unfortunately for the Zionist regime, the US is too weak and too preoccupied with its war in Ukraine to do much more to help them.”

On Saturday, Palestinians launched their biggest operation against Israel in years in a surprise offensive that combined fighters crossing the fence into Israeli-occupied cities with a heavy barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip.

At least 300 Israelis were killed and over 1,000 injured, Israeli media reported, citing the Israeli ambulance service. Meanwhile, Israeli raids on Gaza has claimed lives of more than 250 Palestinians so far as death toll is expected to rise with escalation of conflict.

Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of the Hamas' political bureau said 'Operation al-Aqsa Storm' was a response to the "crimes of the occupation." He said fighters were defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem al-Quds and the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
