Concurrent with the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, people, especially the younger generation and women took to the streets in Tehran and other Iranian cities.

Led by the late Imam Khomeini, the Iranian people put an end to the oppressive rule of the Pahlavi regime and also Western powers’ dominance in the country on February 11, 1979.

This year’s rallies across Iran were widely covered by both Iranian and foreign media outlets.

 The rallies gained more importance as there have been extensive efforts to create insecurity across Iran in the past few months. 

Participants in the nationwide rallies held placards showing to the world their strong support for the ideals and values of the Islamic Revolution.
