Armed Resistance Only Way to Liberate Quds
“The occupying regime of Israel has occupied the holy Quds and Palestine by force and with support from some Western powers and, therefore, the only way to take back the occupied territories is resorting to armed resistance,” Zawawi told the International Quran News Agency (IQNA).
“We will never recognize Israel and, God willing, will take back every inch of the Palestinian land, because the entire Quds and its sanctities belong to the Palestinian people and no power will be able to dominate it,” he added.
The envoy further referred to the third Palestinian Intifida (uprising), triggered by US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Quds as the Zionist regime’s capital, and said the new Intifada is Jihad (struggle) of the path of God and aimed at countering US and Zionist bullying.
He underlined that it is incumbent upon every Arab and Muslim country to support the Intifada.
Zawawi went on to underscore that the end of Israel is close, the future belongs to the Palestinian people and that occupied Palestinian lands will soon be freed.
Trump officially declared the holy city of Quds Israel's capital, despite warnings from around the world that the measure risks triggering a fresh wave of violence in the Middle East.
In a speech at the White House on December 6, Trump said his administration would also begin a years-long process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to Quds.
The move has drawn criticism and condemnation from around the world.
Israel has occupied East Quds since the 1967 Middle East war. It annexed the area in 1980 and sees it as its exclusive domain. Under international law, the area is considered to be occupied territory.
