TEHRAN (IQNA) - Five Quranic stations have been established in the city of Najaf as people are set to participate in mourning ceremonies for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the coming days.

The stations are set to offer various Quranic programs to pilgrims including the correct reading of Surah Al-Fatiha and other short surahs.

Held by a center affiliated with the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS), the stations will feature more than 25 Quranic experts, qaris, and memorizers.

The 28th day of the lunar calendar month of Safar marks the departure anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the martyrdom of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS), the second infallible Imam.

Thousands of Shia Muslims are expected to visit the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf to mark the day.
