TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that the Zionist regime’s crime of murdering Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh conveyed a powerful message.

Speaking on Friday, Nasrallah pointed to the Christian religion of Abu Akleh, saying that this shows the Zionist entity doesn’t distinguish between a Muslim and a Christian.

Strongly condemning the Zionist crime, he said that “Shireen Abu Akleh had been for years a witness for Israeli crimes against Palestinian people.”

He maintained that the first group to be ashamed of this crime should be all those who call for the normalization of ties with the Israeli regime.

There has been no change in the criminal nature of the Zionist enemy, he stressed.

Shireen Abu Akleh, a longtime TV correspondent for Al Jazeera Arabic, was killed on Wednesday after being shot in the head while covering the Israeli army’s raids in the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.

She was rushed to a hospital in Jenin in critical condition, where she was declared dead shortly after, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Shatha Hanaysha, another Palestinian journalist who was with Abu Akleh when she was murdered, asserted the incident was a “deliberate attempt” by Israeli forces to kill the journalists.

Her funeral was held on Friday with the participation of thousands of Palestinians in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds. The Zionist forces attacked the funeral procession.
