Quran Contest for Iran Police Forces Kicks Off in Mashhad

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final round of the 26th Quran competition for Iranian police forces got underway in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad on Sunday.

A total 250 members of the Law Enforcement Force are competing in the final stage of the Quranic event.

Addressing the opening ceremony, General Bahrami, propagation and public relations deputy of the Police Force’s Ideo-Political Organization, appreciated the efforts of all of those who strive to promote the Quranic culture.

He also welcomed the good reception of the competition by the Police forces across the country.  

General Bahrami referred to the growth in the number of total contenders in the annual contest and said that in this edition, the number reached 23,000, compared to 20,000 last year.

He added that the quality of the contenders’ performances has also improved significantly compared to the previous editions.

The final stage of the competition will conclude in Mashhad on Tuesday.

Top contenders in different categories will represent the Police Force in the upcoming national Quran competition of Iran’s Armed Forces, slated for February in Tehran.
