TEHRAN (IQNA) – The recent workshop held in Bahrain to promote the so-called deal of the century plan was imposed on the Manama regime, an Iranian official said.

Speaking at a forum in Tehran on different aspects of the US-Israeli “deal of the century”, Hossein Sheikholeslam, an interventional advisor to the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, said Bahrain is actually under Saudi occupation.

He said it had been decided that Bahrain must play host to the workshop and the Manama rulers had no choice but agree to it.

Bahrain hosted the conference on June 25 and 26 to encourage what it calls investment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip as part of US President Donald Trump’s plan for Palestine.

The US-organized gathering was boycotted by numerous Palestinian groups and business leaders.

Sheikholeslam stressed that the forum was a failure for the US as Palestinians and all other nations boycotted it.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikholeslam said the balanace of power in the region has changed in favor of resistance, noting that Israel has been defeated in all of its wars against the resistance movement in recent years.

The forum on “Aspects of the Deal of Century” was held at the International Quran News Agency’s (IQNA) main office in Tehran on Monday.

Palestinian Ambassador to Iran Salah al-Zawawi also took part at the event.
